Use More Photos to Increase Vacation Rental Bookings

10% off Vacation Rentals Listings on Owners Direct : Use Code AFF10

Flipkey recently shared statistics from vacation rental listings on their sites, which indicates that vacation rental listings with more than 20 photos generate more bookings.

Taking vacation rental listings with 5 photos as a baseline, the breakdown of bookings is:

Listings with 20 or more photos generate generate 54% more bookings
Listings with 11-20 photos generate 13% more bookings
Listings with 6 -10 photos generate 14% more bookings
Listings with less than 5 photos generate 29% less bookings

Of course, there may be other reasons that those vacation rental listings with more than 20 photos generate more bookings. For example, listings with more than 20 photos are more likely to be premium listings. Also, it is possible that the owners of listings with lots of photos may be more proactive in managing all aspects of their vacation rental listing. (For examlpe, if they have taken the time to upload 20 or more photos, they may also be the sort of owner who keeps their calendars up to date and respond promptly to enquiries.)

Nevertheless, having plenty of good quality photos is likely to encourage renters to consider your vacation rental property. Hence, having as many photos as possible in your vacation rentals listings makes good business sense.

Since renters can't visit your home before they decide to book, you need to showcase your home in the best possible light and photos (and video) are the best way to do it. While hiring a professional photographer is the easiest option, you can take photos yourself. Here's a few photo tips from the experts to help.
